Many people may not be familiar with the Omega Century. This watch is a Canadian-market Omega that was also referenced during the 1956 Olympics. Due to the high cost of importing, the Star Case Company in Canada produced the cases for these watches. This particular piece is a rare find with a unique history associated with Omega.
The dial is factory original and has nicely aged features. The movement has been fully serviced and is an Omega calibre 283 with 17 jewels. The movement's serial number is 14808600, dating this watch to 1955. The 10k gold-filled case measures 33.3mm in diameter, excluding the crown, and 39mm from lug tip to lug tip. It has a brand new crystal, and the crown is signed.
Overall, this is a stunning and attractive watch! It will come with a brand new 18mm handmade genuine leather strap. The wrist size shown in the photo is 6 inches.
