Here is a rare Omega vintage watch, specifically designed for the Swedish market during World War II. This particular model is known among collectors as the "cigarette watch." Swedish soldiers used to trade their Suveran watches for packs of cigarettes, which gave rise to this name.
Only a limited number of Suveran watches remain in today's market, many of which have refinished dials or are in poor condition. However, this watch features its beautifully aged factory-finish dial with the original set of hands. It will also include a brand-new crystal and retains its original metal case gasket.
The correct original crown for this watch is unsigned. The solid stainless steel case is unpolished and has the model number 2400-3, measuring 35mm in diameter (excluding the crown) and 42mm from lug tip to lug tip. The manually wound movement is an Omega calibre 30T2 with 15 jewels, and the movement's serial number is 10189261, dating this watch to 1944.
